The company was named Modern Tech Floors because our philosophy is that our knowledge of tools, techniques, and products is constantly progressing because of our strong connection to the best in the industry. Our core value as a wood flooring company is to be the most memorable contractor in Portland for our personable service and ideas in addition to our final product.

Scott originally started off life as a scientist in the world of molecular biology. After deciding to make a career change in late 2001 Scott decided it was time to begin training with the National Wood Flooring Association. It was a great fundamental first step that has resulted in years of continuously advancing knowledge through training and networking with master craftsmen.
